Memory Tangled
"Memory Tangled" is a piece made up of shifting, illusive elements that wrap themselves around the listener. Sounds come in and out of focus, and recordings are sourced from many different periods of MacPhee's life. Comforting, nostalgic tones are juxtaposed with cold and distant field recordings, creating tension and opposition.

About the artist:
Ian MacPhee utilizes hardware and field recordings to create ambient soundscapes that lend to the creation of a dense, texture-based landscape. MacPhee’s music works in conversation with his photographic explorations and displays an appreciation for the present. MacPhee’s live performances consist of drone, found sound and video art, creating an immersive environment.
