About the artist:
G Douglas Barrett is an artist, composer, and scholar. His music and artistic work has been discussed in Artforum, The Wire, Postmodern Culture, MusikTexte, and Guernica.
Barrett has had residencies at USF Verftet Bergen, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and the Catwalk Institute. He has received awards from Akademie Schloss Solitude, Franklin Furnace, DAAD, and Tokyo Gen’On Project.
Barrett's new book, "Experimenting the Human: Art, Music, and the Contemporary Posthuman," appeared in 2023 on the University of Chicago Press. Starting fall 2023, he is an Assistant Professor in the TV, Radio, & Film Department at Syracuse University.
