Daniel Escamilla
Earmaginations [silent videos] On-site June 3rd and online June 11th:
The Bonfire
The Bonefire is a ritualistic performance of self reflection and therapy. The nostalgic person reflects upon past intimate connections with individuals. Tokens of these moments act as conduits to the past. Reflection occurs prior to a symbolic destruction of the conduits happens. Afterwards enlightenment occurs once these objects are let go. The transition of colors painted on the person alludes to a favorite color, a birthstone, an item, an article of clothing, or enlightenment. When an individual looks back upon history it allows for an opportunity to learn from prior events.
