Toxic Sounds (666 Excerpt)
Henry + Christenson (USA), multidisciplinary artists living on opposite coasts of the continent, collaborate on a new sound project at the intersection of their ongoing research into place and environment. A praxis of aural meditation, Toxic Noise is part field study + part experimental music album comprised of mixed tracks of ambient sounds recorded at various Superfund sites (i.e., highly polluted and toxic locations across the United States).
The enclosed excerpt is from track 666 of their Toxic Noise album, produced entirely with mixed recordings from two Superfund sites near Henry + Christenson’s respective homes: the U.S. Titanium Piney River site in Virginia and The Duwamish River site in Washington.
