Proposed work as accepted for soundpedro 2021:
Various Divergences #2
Part of a video series premiered at Experimental Intermedia NYC in December 2020, a fully online version of a normally intimate intersection of friends and artists from many countries. The source material was shot on a camcorder in 2003 at a Christmas market in Bavaria, and signifies for me a simpler time in my life. The shuffled processing applied to the material, at first perhaps jarring, settles into shimmer, as if through a time prism. For me this is a more living way of experiencing a memory than through static capsules of video clips with arbitrary, unchangeable beginnings and endings, determined so often by decision-making processes long lost to us.

Soundcolors / paper ears
Watercoloring in a snowstorm in February 2021, with contact microphones clipped to either side of a strip of watercolor paper. The paper resisted the gentle snow, which stayed frozen in the 25° F air; but still readily absorbed the watercolors, which combined with the snow into a slush like a frozen dessert. Feeling the approach of a better spring for our colorful little world in the Massachusetts woods.
